Wilson golf clubs
Wilson golf clubs have two surprises right out of the box - they're cheap and yet they look like a million dollars.
The Deep Red clubs, and the distinctive Spine drivers, for example, look ... well ... beautiful. (There! I said it.) When new they look luxurious and, to my way of thinking, exude a quiet success.
And then there's the price. Good sets of golf clubs are normally not cheap, but you can get a brand new, high performance Wilson club for under $150, and frequently for less than $100. There are discounts available from discount retailers and Internet sites.
Put price and looks together, and add the underlying technology, and you've got a pretty compelling argument. Not to mention an edge when your buddies are looking over your clubs. Actually, you'll get more than your friends' approval, because these clubs look good and feel right you'll have increased confidence when you tee off.
Driver does the distance?
Don't let yourself be talked out a Wilson if you've tried one out at the shop and found it feels good to you and hits well for a good distance. These clubs frequently hold their own against top brands as the reviews testify.
Having said that, a Wilson driver does take a firm, consistent swing to strike well. True, there is forgiveness built in to the clubs by Wilson's technology people. So you can be confident that all but your biggest miss hits will go the distance. And you can often get your ball to fly on a noticeably lower trajectory. But if your swing needs practice, keep practicing!
These clubs have a most staisfying impact on the ball. Actually the staisfaction starts when you address the ball. The balance is great. Take a firm grip and think your way to the strike and ... whack! It's a comfortable, easy impact, and hitting the ball is a pleasure. This would hold true also for Wilson's womens clubs.
Grip is average. But then the grip on clubs from a wide range of manufacturers seems like this these days. The Wilson grip is serviceable and works well, but if I had one gripe it would be the average feel you get from the grip.
